The Azure Enterprise Data Analyst Associate creates, deploys and manages Enterprise-scale data analytics solutions using Azure and Power BI Premium. They govern the Power BI estate through controls (Tenant Settings, Azure Purview), as well as utilising Enterprise BI architecture (dataflows and shared datasets).
They perform core data ingestion and transformation using Azure back end (Synapse notebooks (Spark/SQL) and integrating Power BI with Azure Synapse analytics). Azure Enterprise Data Analyst Associate optimises data models for Enterprise workloads, DAX and data refreshes in the Analysis Services cubes (Power BI datasets). They optimise data models and use external tools like DAX Studio and Tabular Editor to manage XMLA endpoints.
Data Analyst
As a LDI Data Analyst, you will have mastered Excel as a core data analytics tool and then extended this to become a Power BI Specialist.
It may be useful to start with understanding Power BI within the context of the wider Power Platform by undertaking Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900). This will allow you to explore all the Power Platform Products at a high level (including Power Apps/Power Automate and Power Virtual Agents) to build low code solutions to analyse and manage data.
The core Power BI syllabus, however, is that of “Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst certification (PL-300). This is a broad syllabus which covers everything from Data Preparation/ modelling to the deployment and management of Power BI artefacts in the Power BI Service. It is both broad and deep and requires you to have good working knowledge/experience of Power BI.
Once building a strong core in Power BI, you can start to explore more advanced concepts in Power BI such as Power BI Governance by taking the relevant LDI course modules.
